Bituriges
Gallic: "Kings of the World"?

According to Livy, they were the most powerful Celtic tribe in Gaul in the time of Tarquinius Priscus (6th C BCE), and were comprised of two groups, the Vivisci and the Burdigala. At the instigation of King Ambigatus, they migrated to Northern Italy. The Vivisci settled at Garumna (Garrone), and around Burdigala (Bordeaux), while the Cubi settled around Bourges, named after the Burdigala. The old name was Avaricum.
